Enhanced plan

Every inventory commitment, sales plan and launch plan can be downloaded as a PDF or a spreadsheet, carries its own documents, and keeps a log of what happened to it. This page covers all three plan types. Promotional events have none of these.

You can export and download on every subscription plan. To upload documents or attach a printout, your subscription needs to include the plan’s type: Enhanced or Elevate for a launch plan, Elevate for a commitment or a sales plan. See Plan requirements.

On a plan’s page, open Actions › Quick PDF export. The PDF downloads straight away, using your default PDF template (or the standard layout if you haven’t set one up).

The PDF is titled by plan type (Inventory Commitment, Sales Plan or New Product Plan) and lists the plan’s details, its recipient when it has one, and its items: SKU, product, location, target date, estimated quantity, probability, expected quantity, and the price and value unless your template hides prices. On a sales plan’s PDF, the quantities and values are the ones its Products tab shows, including revenue you typed in yourself.

Actions › Export lets you choose the format and template:

  1. Excel Spreadsheet (.xlsx), CSV File (.csv) or PDF Document (.pdf). The gear icon next to a format opens its template settings.
  2. Tick Attach printout to my documents to save a copy on the plan’s Documents tab as well.
  3. Click Next. Without templates for that format, the file downloads now. Otherwise pick a template, or Use default settings. For a PDF, Preview shows the result with the plan’s data; the preview’s Page size (A4 (210 x 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5 x 11 in)) only changes the preview.
  4. Click Export PDF, Export XLSX or Export CSV. The file downloads.

Exporting works in every status and on every subscription plan, so you can download a Locked, Completed or Cancelled plan too.

A spreadsheet with Use default settings has one row per item: plan number and name, status, product, variant, SKU, location, estimated quantity, probability, expected quantity and the item’s target date. A launch plan has no single target date per item, so its default spreadsheet shows each item’s Launch start and Launch end instead. On a launch plan’s PDF, the target window runs from the launch date to the end of the plan horizon, and follows any change you make to either.

When Attach printout to my documents is greyed out, the reason replaces its help text:

  • The plan is Locked, Completed or Cancelled, so its documents are read-only. You can still download the printout.
  • Your subscription doesn’t include this type of plan: “Attaching needs the Elevate Plan. You can still download the printout.” On a launch plan it names the Enhanced Plan.

Walkthrough: save a commitment as a PDF for your customer

Section titled “Walkthrough: save a commitment as a PDF for your customer”
  1. Open the commitment and click Actions › Export.

  2. Pick PDF Document (.pdf) and tick Attach printout to my documents.

  3. Click Next, choose a PDF template (if you have several), and click Preview to check it.

  4. Click Export PDF. The PDF downloads, and a copy appears on the Documents tab.

  5. Attach the downloaded PDF to your email to the customer.

What you can export from a list depends on the plan type:

ListExport
Inventory CommitmentsExport (or Export N with commitments ticked) opens Export Commitments: choose the commitments, the data level and the format. See below.
Sales PlansExport downloads a CSV straight away: the ticked plans, or every plan on the current page. Plans on other pages aren’t included, so raise the page size to 50 to export more at once. One row per plan, with plan number, name, locations, products, target units, status, plan window and last update.
New Product PlanningNo list export. Export each plan from its page.
Promotional EventsNo export.

Export Commitments goes through four steps:

  1. Scope: Selected (the commitments you ticked), All on this page, or All filtered (every commitment matching your search and filters, across all pages).
  2. Data level: Line item export (one row per item of each commitment) or Commitment level export (one row per commitment, with its item count, estimated and expected quantities and locations).
  3. Format: Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) or CSV file (.csv), and an export template if you have one.
  4. Export: the file downloads when every commitment has been read. Cancel export stops it without downloading anything.

The Documents tab holds files that belong to the plan: a customer’s order confirmation, a contract, a product brief, or printouts you attached when exporting.

  • Upload new document opens Upload Document. Drop a file or click to browse: PDF, images, Excel, CSV or Word, up to 10 MB. Give it a Document Type (pick an existing one or type a new one; empty means General) and click Upload.
  • Each document shows its name, type, size and upload date, with buttons to download or delete it. Deleting asks for confirmation and can’t be undone.

You can upload and delete documents while the plan is Draft or Confirmed and your subscription includes its type. Once it is Locked, Completed or Cancelled, documents can still be downloaded but not changed.

The Activity tab is the plan’s history, newest first, in your store’s time zone (the one set in Shopify). Logistified records what happened, for example:

  • status changes (“Status changed: Draft → Confirmed”) and edited details,
  • items or products added, updated or removed. On a commitment, an item edit names the product, its location and what changed, for example “Updated Mug · Blue at Berlin: estimated qty 100 → 120”,
  • orders created from the plan, by number, for example “Purchase order created: PO-…”,
  • on a sales plan: growth changes, re-seeded targets, locations added or removed,
  • on a launch plan: size groups created, saved or removed, rebuilt curves, adjusted curves, locations added or removed.

Comments. Type in Add a comment to the activity log… and click Add, for example to note why a target changed. Comments can’t be edited or deleted. The comment box is hidden once the plan is Locked, Completed or Cancelled.

If the history can’t be read for a moment, the tab says “Couldn’t load the activity.” instead of showing an empty log, and no comments can be added until it loads again.

Times and dates on Inventory Planning pages and in their exports follow your store’s time zone from Shopify, not the time zone of the computer you’re using: the Created line under a plan’s title, the Activity times, a document’s upload date, the list’s Updated column, the PDF’s created, confirmed and “Generated on” times, the date in export file names and the created, updated, confirmed and locked times in a spreadsheet. If Logistified can’t read your store’s time zone for a moment, these show UTC (universal time) instead.

Plan dates you pick (a target date, a plan window, a launch date) are calendar days and always show the day you chose.

PDF and spreadsheet templates for plans are set up in Settings › Inventory Planning › Export templates: a PDF template, an item-level spreadsheet template and a plan-level one for the commitment list. A PDF template can show barcodes and product images, or hide prices. See Inventory Planning settings.
