Printing Studio
Printing Studio is a self-service label-printing workspace, reached from Inventory Management in the top nav and available on every plan. Scan or pick the items you want labels for, set how many copies of each, pick a template (or your shop’s default look), and generate — no purchase order required. The generated file is saved on the run so you can find and re-download it later.

Quick create vs. a saved print run
Section titled “Quick create vs. a saved print run”There are two ways to print:
- Quick create — the fast path. Scan or pick a handful of items, set copies, and print right away. Nothing is kept in your history unless you choose to save it.
- A saved print run — open a run, add items from any of four sources, adjust settings, and generate. The run and every file you generate from it stay in your print history for later re-download.
Both use the same rendering pipeline, so the labels look identical either way.
Quick create
Section titled “Quick create”Click Quick create on the Printing Studio page.
- Add items — scan or type a barcode/SKU in the scan bar, click Pick from Shopify, or Upload CSV/XLSX. Re-scanning an item you already added adds one more copy instead of a duplicate row.
- Set copies — edit the number on each row, or tick rows and use Set selected copies → Apply to set them all at once (newly added items come pre-selected; Set selected to 1 resets them).
- Choose a template (or leave it on Simple mode, your shop’s default look), an output format, and optionally a currency override.
- Click Print to generate and open the file without keeping any record, or Save & Print to also create a print run you can find again later.
Starting a print run
Section titled “Starting a print run”Click New print run on the Printing Studio page. It opens straight into an empty run so you can start adding items. Runs are numbered automatically (PR-00001, PR-00002, …).
Adding items
Section titled “Adding items”A run’s Add items menu offers four sources — mix and match freely. Re-adding an item you’ve already added, from any source, increases its copies rather than creating a duplicate row:
- Pick from Shopify — browse and select products or variants.
- Scan Items — scan or type a barcode/SKU, one at a time. Each scan adds one copy.
- Upload CSV/XLSX — a CSV, XLS, or XLSX file (up to 20 MB) with a SKU or barcode column (SKU wins when a row has both) and an optional copies column (defaults to 1 when left out). Long files are fine — the upload is committed in batches automatically, with a progress readout while it runs. Rows whose SKU or barcode doesn’t match anything in your store are flagged before you commit and are skipped.
- Virtual Materials — for Assemblified virtual materials, if you use them.
The items table shows each row’s product, SKU, barcode, and copies, with its own search box for long runs.
Copies
Section titled “Copies”Each row’s Copies field is how many labels print for that item — a whole number from 1 to 20,000. Three ways to set it:
- Edit the number directly in the row.
- Tick rows, type a number into Set copies, and click Apply to set many at once.
- Re-add the same item from any source — copies accumulate.
Label settings
Section titled “Label settings”From the run’s Label settings panel:
- Name (optional) — to tell runs apart in your history.
- Template — Simple mode (shop defaults) or one of your saved designer templates.
- Output format — PDF (labels), CSV (spreadsheet), or XLSX (spreadsheet).
- Price currency override (optional) — force every label on this run to one currency.
- Notes (optional).
Click Save settings to persist your changes to the run. (Generating always saves your current settings first, so the file matches what’s on screen.)
Field mapping for designer templates
Section titled “Field mapping for designer templates”A designer template can reference fields that normally come from a purchase order — supplier, location, and similar. A scanned or picked item only carries product and variant information, so if your chosen template references one of those fields, a Field mapping panel appears letting you decide, per field:
- Leave blank — the field prints empty.
- Fixed value — type a value to use for every label in this run.
- Map to column — substitute a product/variant field instead (for example, use SKU where the template expects a supplier reference).
The preview reflects the mapping immediately; it’s saved with the run when you click Save settings (generating saves it too).
Preview
Section titled “Preview”For PDF runs, a live preview shows what a single label looks like with your current settings and field mapping, updating as you change them. It always renders one sample item rather than a row from the run — it’s there to check the layout, not the data. CSV/XLSX runs don’t show a preview since there’s no label to render.
Generating labels
Section titled “Generating labels”Click Generate labels (the run needs at least one item). Logistified renders the file and saves it to the run. A PDF opens in a new tab ready to print; CSV/XLSX downloads immediately. You can generate again any time — for example after adding more items — and every file you’ve generated stays listed under Generated files for that run, named after the run number (e.g. PR-00007-labels-60pcs.pdf).
Finding past print runs
Section titled “Finding past print runs”The Printing Studio list shows every run with its status, item and label counts, output format, generated files, and when it was last updated — sortable by run number, status, items, labels, and last-updated. Search by run number, name, SKU, barcode, or product, and filter by status. Each row’s Download link grabs the run’s most recent file without opening the run (it reads Download (2), and so on, when a run has more than one file).
Statuses
Section titled “Statuses”| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Draft | Created; items may or may not be added yet. |
| Generating | A file is being produced. |
| Completed | At least one file has been generated. |
If a generation fails, the run returns to the status it had before — a completed run stays Completed. (The status filter also offers Cancelled. No screen in Logistified sets that status — only an assistant connected through AI / Agent access with write access can.)
Edge cases
Section titled “Edge cases”- Deleting a print run removes it from your list. Files you already generated stay in storage, but you can no longer reach them from Logistified once the run is deleted — this can’t be undone.
- A file you’ve already generated is fixed — later changes in Shopify don’t rewrite it. But every new generation fetches each item’s current price, cost, and barcode from Shopify, the same live-data rule as Settings → Label printing. If Shopify can’t be reached, the labels fall back to the values stored when the item was added, and you’ll see a warning.
- If an item is later deleted from Shopify, its row stays on the run and files you already generated are unaffected.
