When alerts fire

Enhanced plan

Stock notifications are real-time. There is no daily run and no schedule to wait for — emails go out within seconds of the inventory change that triggered them.

The flow

A variant’s inventory changes in Shopify (sale, restock, manual edit, receiving a purchase order, and so on).
Shopify tells Logistified about the change.
Logistified evaluates each enabled rule’s triggers against the new and previous quantities — shop-wide for a Global rule, at the affected location for a Per location rule.
If a trigger condition just crossed, the email is queued and sent within seconds.

Built-in de-duplication

You won’t get spammed if a variant stays in the alert state. Each trigger fires once per crossing:

Stock-out alert fires the moment on-hand goes from positive to zero. It does not re-fire while the variant stays at zero — it re-arms only when stock rises back above zero.
Stock threshold fires the moment on-hand crosses from above your threshold to at or below it. It does not re-fire while inventory stays below the threshold — it re-arms only when stock rises back above it.
The four variant-constant triggers behave the same way: one email when the boundary is crossed, then quiet until stock moves back to the other side of it.
Days from reorder point fires when the forecast-projected days-until-reorder drops to or below your value. To absorb daily forecast jitter, a 24-hour per-variant cooldown blocks a repeat alert for the same variant. After 24 hours it can fire again if the variant is still inside your window.

In practice a long-running stock-out sends one email when the item first hits zero, not one every day.

Per-location rules alert per location

On a Per location rule the crossing is tracked separately for each location. The same variant can alert for one warehouse today and a different one next week, and going out of stock in Berlin doesn’t stop a later alert for the same variant in Hamburg. Each email names the location that crossed the boundary.

A Global rule tracks one crossing per variant, against your total available stock across all locations.

Test sends never affect cooldowns

Send test email is completely separate from the real alert path. A test never marks a trigger as fired, never consumes the 24-hour days-from-reorder window, and never suppresses the genuine alert that follows. Test as often as you like. Test emails are marked [Test] in the subject line, and appear in the Activity table with a Test badge.

When alerts do not fire

A few conditions silently skip a variant:

The rule’s Enable this rule switch is off.
No triggers are enabled on the rule.
No recipients are ticked on the rule (nobody would receive it anyway).
The rule has a Forecast view selected and the variant isn’t in it.
The rule is per-location, has locations selected, and the change happened at a different location.
For the variant-constant triggers: the variant has no value saved for that boundary.
For the days-from-reorder trigger: there isn’t enough forecast data yet, or the projected days are zero or negative.
The shop isn’t on the Enhanced plan at the moment the stock changed.

Downgrading from Enhanced

Disable your rules before downgrading. On a non-Enhanced plan, rules stop being evaluated, so no emails go out — but every configuration stays exactly as it was, and upgrading again re-activates it. If you want a clean break, switch each rule off.
